To the Temple Community,
Earlier this evening, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Temple University Police responded to a traffic incident where a pedestrian was hit by a motor vehicle around Broad Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue. The victim, who is not affiliated with Temple University, has since been taken to Temple Hospital and is presently in stable condition. The driver remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and being led by Temple University Police. Investigators are reviewing security video and talking with witnesses.
Earlier today, we shared information related to several Temple safety resources. As a reminder, when driving in high traffic areas, remember to slow down, stay alert, avoid distractions and always yield to pedestrians. Pedestrians are also reminded to stay alert, watch for traffic when crossing streets and look both ways before crossing, even at marked crossings.
We encourage all members of our community to continue to familiarize themselves with the university’s available safety resources. Information can be found at safety.temple.edu.
Sincerely,
Denise Wilhelm
Interim Vice President for Public Safety and Chief of Police
