Temple Pharmacy Students Complete Summer Internships at Johns Hopkins

Matt and Gabi with certs

This summer, two rising PY3 students - Matthew Galanaugh and Gabrielle Stuart - gained hands-on health-system pharmacy experience as part of the Johns Hopkins Pharmacy Internship Program.

As part of a competitive national internship class, Matt worked in Education and Training, while Gabi was in System Formulary Management and Integration. Alongside interns from pharmacy schools across the country, they engaged with real-world patient care, exploring policy-driven pharmacy practices and growing both professionally and personally through collaboration, presentations, and mentorship. They took part in twice-weekly group discussions on post-graduate training and leadership; had three individual shadowing experiences; and presented an independent project at the internship's conclusion this month.

In their own words: "We believe we have grown significantly in our confidence as future pharmacists. We have gained valuable insight into collaboration within a health system, formed lifelong colleagues from across the nation, and cannot wait to share more about our experiences when we return to Temple!"

Congratulations on a terrific summer experience, Matt and Gabi!
