Cherry On Thursdays are back for spring 2026, which means it’s time to show your Temple pride on campus each week and become a part of one of Temple’s fave traditions. You could even win exclusive prizes for repping your Temple colors, with opportunities to win every week.
“Cherry On is a way for students to show off their school spirit. We’re excited for students to have the opportunity to be more engaged in being here at Temple and what it means to be a Temple student,” says Barbara Perlman, senior director of student leadership and engagement.
Ready to show off your best cherry and white fits? Want to rep TU on more than just game days? Cherry On Thursdays are your perfect chance to show off your biggest, brightest, cherriest school spirit.
What are Cherry On Thursdays?
Every Thursday, Owls are encouraged to rock their cherry and white on campus to celebrate all things Temple. Throughout the semester, there will be Cherry On events and pop-ups where you can win free, exclusive swag. And, stay tuned to @TempleUniv Instagram to participate in a weekly Cherry On scavenger hunt! Each week, a clue will be posted to Temple’s Instagram stories about where to find a hidden cherry plushie on campus. The first to find the plushie wins! And no, you can’t buy one at the bookstore ... it’s a scavenger hunt exclusive.
How can I participate?
All you have to do is wear cherry each Thursday and show off your school spirit. Whether it’s a favorite T-shirt, hat, sweatshirt or scarf, show up and show out for TU. And don’t forget to snap a picture of your best cherry look and tag us for a chance to be featured on Temple’s social media channels!
Where can I get cherry to wear?
Join us for Cherry On events on campus where we will be giving our free cherry and white swag! And check out the Cherry On merchandise in the new campus store in Paley Hall. While we love seeing you rep the Temple logo, any cherry-colored gear counts for Cherry On Thursdays!
What Cherry On events are happening this spring?
Join us on April 9 from 11:30 – 1 at O’Connor Plaza for a special Temple Made themed Cherry On event. There will be tons of give aways, music, and more!
Will I really get free stuff?
Yes! Check out our social media channels each week to join the Cherry On scavenger hunt and attend a Cherry On event for the chance to win exclusive t-shirts, hats, scarves and more.

“One of the great things about Temple is you never know who is Temple Made. If you’re wearing a Temple hat or t-shirt at an internship or walking around Philadelphia, you are likely to hear someone say, ‘Go Owls!’” says DeCrescenzo. “I hope it reminds students that they’re part of bigger community of Temple Owls.”
