Temple University today announced a five-year agreement with The Coca-Cola Company as the university s beverage partner.
The agreement, which took effect July 1 and has an option for a five-year renewal, includes sponsorship opportunities; scholarship funding; support for capital recreation projects, such as Temple s new sports complex; in-kind product donations; and campus marketing activations.
Coca-Cola products will be available across Temple s campuses in Greater Philadelphia, including including bookstores, dining facilities and the Liacouras Center.
We are excited about Coca-Cola s portfolio of beverages that are suitable for any campus lifestyle, as well as the energy and engagement this agreement will bring to the Temple community, said Michael D. Scales, Temple s associate vice president of business services. This partnership also responds to feedback from the university community expressing interest in this change.
Scales added that a recent online survey his office conducted found that approximately 60 percent of students said they preferred Coca-Cola products.
We appreciate the opportunity to serve Temple s dynamic, growing community and further enhancing our presence in Philadelphia, said Bill Derbyshire, Coca-Cola s vice president of customer, commercial and region sales. Temple is clearly on the move, and we look forward to bringing our iconic brand and innovation to such a dynamic university.
Across North America, Coca-Cola features 750 brands and product varieties. The company s Freestyle machine for fountain beverages includes more than 140 options, including more than 75 that are either low in calories or have no calories.
