Today, Tuesday, Oct. 13, marks the official dedication of the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.
A year in the making, the dedication represents a historic milestone for Temple and for a medical school with a 114-year legacy of excellence in medical education, research and patient care. The event also marks a lasting tribute to beloved Temple University trustee, advocate and supporter, Lewis Katz, CST 63, whose lifelong values of hard work, dedication and service are also a core part of the School of Medicine s character and mission.
A private ceremony this morning will mark the occasion, with speakers including President Neil D. Theobald, Temple Board of Trustees Chair Patrick J. O Connor, School of Medicine Dean Larry R. Kaiser, Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker and others. The Katz family will be honored and the new school s new name revealed.
