Temple researchers link bacterial biofilms to lupus

Lupus is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the body. Now a research team at the Temple University School of Medicine may be closer to determining a cause.

New findings show that bacterial communities, or biofilm, play a role in the development of lupus. This discovery may now shed light on other autoimmune diseases. Learn more about these revolutionary research findings.
