The College of Engineering has teamed up with NASA to collect biological samples of both the upper atmosphere and near outer space. It s part of the RockSat C program. John Helferty, associate professor of electrical & computer engineering, along with several recent engineering alumni designed the experiment to collect the atmospheric samples, which will be gathered in cylinders and loaded onto a sounding rocket.
Launch is scheduled for June 25-26 at NASA s Flight Facility on Wallops Island, Virginia.
