Join us for the Advancing Medication Safety and Substance Use Care Conference: Temple University School of Pharmacy's 125th Anniversary Multidisciplinary Conference a full day of keynote insights, panel discussions, hands-on education, and student research, hosted at Temple University's Medical Education and Research Building (MERB).

This is more than a School of Pharmacy event. It's a Temple-wide collaboration, bringing together faculty and learners from all areas of healthcare, including pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, public health, nursing, physical therapy, podiatric medicine, occupational therapy, social work, and more, because medication safety is everyone's job.

CE credits will be available for educational sessions and a student poster competition will be offered. Open to all Temple alumni, students, faculty, staff, and select community partners.

Meet the Keynote Speaker

Douglas Thornton, PharmD, PhD, BCPS Associate Professor, Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes and Policy, and Director of the Prescription Drug Misuse Education and Research (PREMIER) Center, University of Houston College of Pharmacy. Dr. Thornton also holds a joint appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health Sciences at the University of Houston College of Medicine.

Dr. Thornton's research centers on prescription drug misuse, health policy, and outcomes-driven strategies to make medication use safer — expertise that will anchor the day's keynote address and the panel discussion that follows.
