Paper, Strings, and Things
A Community Space to Make and Meet

Pause. Create. Connect.
Join the Tyler Art Therapy Program for an Art Hive–an open, welcoming creative space where members of the Tyler community can gather to make art, meet others, and take a restorative break from the demands of the day.

Hosted in the Tyler Atrium, the Art Hive invites students, faculty, and staff to explore art materials, engage in creative play, and connect with others in an informal, inclusive environment. Whether you stay for five minutes or the full session, you are welcome.

There are no assignments, critiques, or expectations, just an invitation to create.

Why an Art Hive?
Research demonstrates that creative engagement can support psychological well-being by reducing stress, encouraging mindfulness, fostering social connection, and promoting resilience. Art Hives are community-based creative spaces that offer opportunities to slow down, reconnect with yourself and others, and experience the restorative benefits of making art in a supportive environment.

While an Art Hive is not art therapy or psychotherapy, it reflects the Art Therapy Program's commitment to creativity, community, and well-being through accessible arts experiences.
