Scholarly Writing Group

Klein College of Media and Communication

Klein College faculty and graduate students are invited to join a new informal writing group designed to support scholarly writing. The goals of the group are to establish protected writing time, hone writing practices, create group accountability, and build community.

Sessions will begin with a brief guided discussion about an aspect of writing, research, and publishing, followed by members articulating a specific writing goal for that session or for the week. Then we will write quietly for an hour. And in the last ten minutes, writers will share with others the progress they made that day.

Tuesdays, 2–3:30 p.m.
Annenberg Hall 301 or Zoom

Bring your laptop, headphones if they help you concentrate, and a basic writing goal you are working on for the week. There is no pressure or guilt—just a welcoming space to make progress alongside colleagues on projects you need to write.

Whether you are beginning a new project, revising a draft or simply trying to protect more time for writing, you are welcome to join us.

If you have questions, please contact the group organizers, or
