Associate Professor and Program Head of Architecture, Facilities Management and Historic Preservation at Temple University, Fauzia Sadiq Garcia, presented her booklet "Creative Grounds: Visions of Los Angeles Beyond Oil" to city officials in Los Angeles. 

Over the past few years, she researched the future of oil refineries in Los Angeles and taught graduate elective studios based on the research. The studios identified approaches for brownfield site development that support environmental justice advocacy, while fostering healthy, equitable communities. 

Through the Dean’s grant, she published and presented the work at the City of Los Angeles to the Deputy Director in City Planning and Director of Capital Infrastructure. She also presented to various public officials at the City of Long Beach and the Port of Long Beach.

Her research will be on display in the Architecture lobby starting on Tuesday, September 1.
