Come work alongside faculty, staff and alumni as we help two of Temple’s neighborhood recreation centers prepare for the spring and summer season.

Right off campus at the Dendy Recreation Center (1555 N 10th St), staff and student volunteers will help by cleaning up the playground, pool, basketball and tennis courts and baseball field.

Sign up to volunteer via Owls for Philly on the home page of the TUportal. For more information on Owls for Philly and claiming your civic benefit, employees are invited to visit this FAQ page.

This Owls for Philly activity was inspired by “Playing fields, not Killing Fields,” an investigative reporting project launched in 2023 by the Klein College of Media and Communication's Claire Smith Center for Sports Media and Logan Center for Urban Investigative Reporting, and The Philadelphia Inquirer which examines the state of North Philadelphia’s recreational facilities and youth sports programs and their role in curbing violence.
