Creating a Dialogue Simulation in VR

Charles Library
VR user.

We will explore a specific application of VR in social psychology research by using an avatar to simulate a social interaction in VR.

We will first learn an overview of creating an avatar and setting up the VR space, next, we will all work on creating the dialogue that the avatar would say using the Unity platform. We will discuss different reasons for choosing certain phrases or different avatars. Our end goal will be to create a working dialogue simulation in VR. A variety of recording and screen capture software will also be discussed. No outside materials are necessary, as we will be projecting the process on the VR Lab’s projector; however, feel free to bring your own laptop to follow along.
