Building Equitable Community Partnerships Symposium | Day 2 for Temple University Faculty, Staff and Graduate Students

Are you a Temple University faculty or staff member, or a graduate student interested in community-engaged research, teaching and/or service? Join us on Friday, Feb. 27, for a dynamic event focused on building and sustaining equitable university–community partnerships.

This program is part of the College of Education and Human Development 2026 Acres of Diamonds Symposium and will explore how university staff, students and faculty can engage equitably with communities through culturally responsive and socially just principles and practices.

Ann Ishimaru, PhD, Kerry and Linda Killinger Endowed Chair and Professor of Educational Foundations, Leadership and Policy at the University of Washington, will present a talk titled “Reading the Rapids: Tensions as Inflection Points in University–Community Relations.” Her presentation draws on her research and scholarship focused on university–community partnerships and collaborations.

The symposium will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon in Morgan Hall 301 and will also feature roundtable presentations and discussions centered on advancing equitable university–community collaborations. A continental breakfast will be served.
