Please join us for the College of Education and Human Development's annual Acres of Diamonds Public Talk and Roundtable Discussions, to be held on Thursday, Feb. 26 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. This year the focus of our public talk and symposium is on building and sustaining equitable partnerships between families, schools, and universities.
Dr. Ann Ishimaru (University of Washington) will
be the guest speaker. This will be an interactive event and an opportunity for community partners and organizations, school district administration and teachers, as well as CEHD alum, faculty, and current students to connect with one another and consider and/or further develop partnership work.
Dr. Ishimaru will provide a framework for thinking about equitable school-university-community collaborations and examples from her work, and then participants will
meet in roundtables to discuss how what was presented may inform their own teaching, service, and/or research. We're hoping all participants walk away from the event with some new ideas and insights to inform their own partnership work, as well some new connections
to people and organizations in Philadelphia and beyond. Light refreshments will be served from 5:30-6:00 p.m. and the program will begin at 6:00 p.m.
