Students as Creators of Knowledge: Getting Started with Open Pedagogy

What if your students' coursework could live beyond the final grade? Open pedagogy transforms learners from passive consumers into active creators—producing work that contributes to public knowledge and builds real-world skills.

Join us to explore how open pedagogy puts student agency, collaboration, and equity at the center of learning. Discover practical ways to redesign assignments so students create meaningful resources like Wikipedia articles, community guides, podcasts, or open textbook chapters.

Whether you're curious about renewable assignments, want to move beyond traditional essays, or are looking to give student work authentic purpose and audience, this session will help you take your first steps.

This workshop is offered as part of Temple University Libraries' celebration of Open Education Week and will be offered as an online session via Zoom. You must register for this workshop. You will receive a registration confirmation email, which includes the Zoom link. This workshop will not be recorded, but a copy of the slides will be emailed after the workshop concludes.
