The Global Internship Program is offered annually in the summer throughout major cities worldwide. Regardless of their destination, students participating in the program will spend two weeks on Temple's Main Campus in May, enrolled in Intercultural Communication in the Workplace. Students have the opportunity to prepare for their internship alongside their peers before departing for their full-time internship destinations.
As part of this program, students will work one-on-one with an industry expert who will help them refine their interviewing skills, perfect their resumés, and assist them in securing an internship in their desired field. Each program destination combines exciting events, learning and travel with a resumé-building internship.
This program, and the two courses provided within it, should appeal to and be applicable to students from a broad range of professional interests. Understanding the influence of culture on organizational communication has become more and more crucial in today's workplace. International or U.S.-based internship experiences and education about the influence of culture on the workplace apply to all majors in and outside of Klein College. No matter the type of internship, the principles necessary for understanding how to adjust to different cultures and how to work with people from different cultural backgrounds cut across internship experiences.
