Join the Tiger Lily Trio, Faculty Ensemble in Residence at the University of Delaware, for a program of contemporary music by four American composers, including Florence Price, Amanda Harberg, Lowell Liebermann, and Cynthia Folio. The Tiger Lily Trio proudly champions the music of American underrepresented composers. The ensemble is particularly excited to present the recently discovered work Moods by African-American composer Florence Price, which explores a wide range of emotions in three distinct movements. Western Winds, Eastern Roots holds a particularly special place on this program, as Tiger Lily Trio commissioned Cynthia Folio to write this work for premiere in 2023 with a forthcoming commercial recording on Navona Records. Performers include Eileen Grycky, flute; Christopher Nichols, clarinet; and Christine Delbeau, piano.
