Brian Hutler is a political philosopher and legal theorist, with a J.D. and Ph.D. from UCLA s Law and Philosophy Program. Brian s research focuses on human rights and freedoms, and their relationship to broader political projects and policy goals. Brian s dissertation centered on religious freedom, assessing and critiquing the availability religious exemptions in contexts such as medicine and healthcare. As a Hecht-Levi fellow, Brian will continue researching topics related to human rights and public health, including the right to medical care and the right to nutrition.
