The work of Dr. Sallie B. King delves deeply into the confluence of contemporary Buddhist traditions and issues of human rights, nonviolence, and social justice. Her recent books include Being Benevolence: The Social Ethics of Engaged Buddhism and Socially Engaged Buddhism. Other books include Buddha Nature on Chinese Buddhist thought, and Journey in Search of the Way, an autobiography of a modern Japanese woman's attainment of enlightenment. She is also co-editor of Engaged Buddhism, which presents the works of modern Buddhist leaders across the globe.
