This evening, just after 8 p.m., the Temple University Police Department (TUPD) and Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) responded to a report of shooting that occurred on the 1500 block of Cecil B. Moore Ave.  

Preliminary information indicates that a young person not affiliated with the university was struck in the leg by an unknown assailant, who ran from the scene. We are grateful to the Philadelphia police officers, who quickly arrived at the scene and transported the victim to Temple Hospital.  

The investigation is ongoing and currently being led by PPD. Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the PPD tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477). You can also contact Temple’s Investigations Unit at 215-204-6200 or Temple Police at 215-204-1234.
