Dear Students and Colleagues,

Following a national search, we are delighted to share that Rogelio Miñana has been named the next academic dean of Temple Rome, effective April 1, 2027. His appointment coincides with a pivotal moment in Temple Rome’s history as the campus celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. In his new role, Rogelio will oversee Temple Rome’s academic programs, faculty and curriculum.

Rogelio joins the Temple community as a respected leader in higher education, with more than two decades of experience advancing global education, developing strong international partnerships and establishing innovative academic programs.

Most recently, he served as the vice provost for Drexel Global, where he oversaw the university’s education abroad programs, international partnerships and academic initiatives. He continues to serve as a professor of global studies and Spanish at Drexel University. His leadership experience also includes serving on Drexel’s President's Executive Council and Provost’s Executive Staff, among numerous other standing and ad hoc committees. We are confident that Rogelio is well-positioned to help propel Temple Rome’s academic initiatives while enhancing the student experience.

During his time at Drexel, Rogelio was instrumental in fostering international collaborations with institutions in countries including India, Italy, Mexico, South Korea, South Africa, Brazil and Greece, supporting research, student recruitment and academic mobility. These efforts further demonstrate his ability to build meaningful global relationships.

Rogelio’s appointment comes as Mary Conran, the current associate dean of academic affairs at Temple Rome, prepares to conclude her term on June 30, 2027. During her tenure, Mary has played a key role in expanding Temple Rome’s academic offerings, including designing the new four-year degree programs, strengthening academic support services and the overall quality of the student experience.

Prior to joining the Temple Rome community, Mary served in multiple roles at the Fox School of Business and across Temple, including associate professor of marketing and supply chain management and faculty director of assessment.

We are deeply grateful to Mary for her many years of distinguished leadership, service and commitment to Temple University. Her contributions have strengthened Temple Rome’s academic foundation and enriched the experiences of countless students, faculty and staff. We thank her for her dedication to the Temple community and the lasting impact of her work.
