Update on this evening’s TUalert

To the Temple Community,    

This evening, around 7:20 p.m., the Temple University Police Department (TUPD) and Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) responded to a call for shots fired that occurred off-campus in the area of the 2100 block of N. 16th Street. No victim has been identified at this time.

Through the initial investigation, it was determined that a person potentially involved in the incident ran into a home on the 1500 block of Diamond Street. Police searched the home. At this time, no arrests have been made. 

PPD is leading the investigation while TUPD is working to assist detectives. Anyone with information is urged to contact the PPD tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477). You also can contact Temple’s Investigations Unit at 215-204-6200 or Temple Police at 215-204-1234. 

We remind the Temple community to be aware of their surroundings and report suspicious activity or safety concerns to Temple Police at 215-204-1234. In an emergency, call 911.
