Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to share that Jessica S. Reinhardt, a professor of practice and program coordinator for school psychology in the Department of Psychological Studies in Education within the College of Education and Human Development, has been appointed the university’s faculty athletics representative (FAR). She succeeds Elizabeth Taylor, who departed Temple earlier this summer to pursue a new opportunity at the University of Wisconsin.

The FAR is a faculty member required to be designated at each NCAA-member institution to ensure the balance between academics and athletics and serve as a liaison of the faculty and administration to the Athletics Department. The FAR also represents the institution and its faculty in conference and NCAA affairs.

Throughout the interview process, it became clear that Jessica was a uniquely qualified individual for this important role. A nationally certified school psychologist and licensed psychologist, Jessica brings significant expertise in mental health to the position. This is especially critical given the ever-changing landscape of intercollegiate athletics and the pressure-packed environment that our student-athletes compete in day in and day out.
