Reflecting on our first year in the University Innovation Alliance

Posted

Dear Students and Colleagues,

This month, we will celebrate one year as members of the University Innovation Alliance (UIA). As you may remember from our announcement last March, Temple was the 18th institution to join this prestigious organization and the only university in Pennsylvania represented in the alliance.

The UIA is the nation’s leading coalition of public research universities committed to improving student outcomes through collaborative innovation. Our membership in the UIA allows us to collaborate with peer institutions from across the country and learn from each other using data-driven results that support student success.

We are already seeing gains from our first year in the alliance as it helps us advance our mission and support students from all walks of life. Specifically, our membership in the UIA provides us with resources to explore new ways to improve student outcomes such as studying our first-year experience and career readiness programs. Our faculty and staff also now have access to the UIA University Innovation Lab, an online hub with all the latest tools to advance student support initiatives. This milestone comes as we begin implementing our new strategic plan, Forward with Purpose, with student success represented as one of our core institutional priorities.

I encourage you to learn more about our first year in the UIA in this Temple Now piece

I look forward to building on this momentum as we continue our work with the UIA in the months and years to come.

Sincerely,

John Fry
President
