Forward with Purpose: Temple University’s Strategic Plan to be presented to the Board of Trustees

Posted

Dear Students and Colleagues,

Later today, Forward with Purpose: Temple University’s Strategic Plan will be shared with our Board of Trustees for their review and approval. This is a pivotal moment for us as a university, as this plan will serve as our roadmap moving forward.

Arriving at this point was no small undertaking, and it was not accomplished alone. I want to thank Interim Provost David Boardman and Vice Provost for Strategic Initiatives Richard Souvenir, who co-chaired the Strategic Planning Executive Committee, as well as the more than 2,000 students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members who contributed to this process.

While we will share the full plan later today, Forward with Purpose is organized around three priorities: Student Success, Research in Action and Place-based Impact. As we move forward into the next decade, our charge is to stay laser focused on these, with a commitment to fulfilling Temple’s mission and student outcomes always staying at the center of all we do.

I encourage you all to view the livestream of the public session of today’s Board of Trustees meeting, which begins at 4 p.m.

Following the meeting, we will share a universitywide announcement that includes more information on Forward with Purpose and next steps.

Thank you all for your continued commitment to this university.

Sincerely,

John Fry
President
